KHQ Right Now - News and Weather for Spokane and North Idaho |
Dr. Frank Straub has found a new home in Spokane Washington. I wish him well and pray for the citizens of Spokane and the officers he will manage; they'll need it. I genuinely hope Straub is well-liked and respected by those he supervises and serves, however history reveals the opposite is likely to happen. The character and "leadership style" of Straub isn't likely to change no matter what city he works for.
The embedded video is a bit long, but very interesting. There is a lot of talk about "civilian oversight, police action plans, innovative policing models, being the best police department in the northwest...etc." We've heard all the same platitudes in Indianapolis, but IMPD was "CORRUPT"; so I wonder what's wrong with Spokane Police Department. I really encourage you to watch the video in its entirety because misery loves company. However, the KHQ6 post article comments make up for the painful video. Enjoy, and Happy Weekend
Below: Frank Straub's resume presented to the City of Spokane: More painful but interesting reading!
The story mentioned that Straub has to pass a police academy....laugh! I'm thinkin that Dr. Straub PhD. (D-NY) will fail.
ReplyDelete-I took note of a few matters of consequence:
ReplyDelete*Frank Straub drove the budget far into the red and created extravagant luxuries for himself, padded the payroll by hiring cronies never before needed, crony "consultants", etc. The result was a SEVERE budget nightmare, with no toilet paper in police facilities, police not provided bullets for qualification, police not provided taser batteries.
*60+% of Spokane DISAPPROVES of Frank Straub becoming their chief.
*Frank Straub was not the top finalist for the job, but was selected....well, as a crony would be.
*Now, wonder where the Spokane budget will go to? (There's a lot to be said about cronyism and the direction of the money.)
It's good to know that Straub is a person of such sound moral character that he waited until he announced his resignation before asking his betrothed out on a date. First date in April, engaged in August, who said he can't get things done!
