Common Sense, Guns and Life

A fourteen year old boy babysitting his 3 younger siblings at his Phoenix home shot and wounded an armed intruder.  According to an AP/USA Today article an unknown female knocked on the door where these 4 children were staying.  The fourteen year old didn’t recognize the female so he refused to open the door.  A few moments later the teen heard loud pounding on the door; he grabbed his siblings and fled upstairs where he retrieved his fathers loaded handgun.  An armed 37 year old man entered the home and pointed a gun at the teen; the teen opened fire and severely wounded the intruder.

If liberals in our country had their way this fourteen year old would have never been permitted the option of defending himself and his siblings.  The most basic human right, defending your life, is perceived by liberals to be too “serious and complicated” for mere peasants to employ; especially a fourteen year old boy.   Diane Feinstein A.P. 11/18/1993, Banning guns addresses a fundamental right of all Americans to feel safe.”  These insane liberals feel it’s their responsibility to tell us how and where we can defend ourselves.  There are actual politicians who think the citizens they represent shouldn’t be afforded the proper tools to defend themselves or others.  Many would consider this heroic teen a criminal who should be prosecuted; and if not for legal challenges in Chicago, Washington D.C. and New York, this teen and his parents would have been in big legal trouble if they had lived in any of those cities.  Insanity abounds:    Columnist Molly Ivans 7/19/1994, “Ban the damn things (guns).  Ban them all.  You want protection?  Get a dog.”  Joseph Biden A.P. 11/18/1993, “Banning guns is an idea whose time has come.”

A 37 year old armed violent criminal versus a fourteen year old teen is not a fair fight; unless the fourteen year old has a gun and can shoot straight.  There is some truth in the old Colt slogan, “God made man, but Samuel Colt made them equal.”

I’m saddened that this teen had to be forced into a position to make such a horrible decision, to take another human’s life albeit a turd of a human, but at least he had the opportunity to MAKE A DECISION.  If his father didn’t have a firearm to protect his family, and had he been mandated by the state to put a trigger lock on the same firearm, this teen could have been murdered alongside his three younger siblings.  May God bless this Phoenix family with emotional healing, and may God provide our ignorant politicians with some common sense.
