Various
news sources described a new campaign effort of the Center for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC) to reduce deaths related to smoking. The CDC is about to begin a $54 million “graphic”
advertisement campaign that will “…help 50,000 smokers quit smoking.” CDC Director Dr. Thomas R. Frieden stated in
a NY Times article the “campaign would save lives for many.” Supposedly, the commercials graphically
display smokers discussing the terrible health consequences of their habit, and
“emphasize that smoking cause’s immediate damage to the body.” Federal Estimates are that smoking kills
approximately 443,000 Americans each year and is the “leading cause of
preventable death and disease in the United States”.
The most discouraging issue about the CDC’s $54 million AD
campaign is the gross lie they want you to believe. Let’s play a 2nd grade math game. Please choose the biggest number…..443,000 a
year….1,210,000 a year….or 825,564 a year???
If you are having difficulty choosing a number, you are either a
politician or a CDC statistical analyst.
According
to the CDC’s own numbers there were 825,564 “legal induced abortions”
performed in the United States in 2008. And
this number was taken from states that volunteered abortion statistical
information; states aren’t even required to report abortion statistics to the
CDC. Various
other organizations cite the number of abortions performed in 2008 were
closer to 1.21 million! The obvious lie
being told by our federal government is that the leading cause of preventable
deaths and disease is smoking….IT’S ABORTION.
Since Roe V. Wade there has been an estimated 50 million deaths as a
result. Why won’t the CDC spend $54
million on a graphic AD campaign (a measly $1 per child killed) to limit the
number of deaths of innocent babies?
Doing so would admit the immoral decisions our legislators and courts
have made over the past 50 years. I’m
pretty certain abortion has “terrible health consequences” and “causes
immediate damage to the body.” Not only
are their physical consequences to the mother and child, but there are horrible
emotional consequences to the aborting woman that never seems to rise to the
level of a needed “public safety announcement.”
There’s a new movie being released March 23rd by
Provident Films called “October Baby.” Please
make every effort to see this movie; unless you are willing to cover your eyes,
plug your ears, and deny the truth that abortion is about more than “a choice.”
