Open Blue Monday
Today's post is a self moderated open forum on any topic. Local, state, and national politics through the eyes of law enforcement. Offer your opinions on anything your interested in. Please keep it respectful and above all, keep it interesting!
We have been told there is no money for : a new class, Tasers for the last class, training funds, etc. And yet despite this lack of funds, Dr. Centurion has hired at least four additional civilians brining in high five to low six figure salaries. The latest is the addition of a CFO(Chief Financial Officer), who most certainly is a CPA and draws over a hundred grand a year. So now, our Department of no funds is paying out over a half a million dollars in extra salaries for positions that have never been necessary for the life of the Department (IPD, MCSD,IMPD). This is in addition to the added salaries now paid out to promoted Lts., and Capt's who were bumped up so they could promote the people they actually wanted.
I guess it's all about priorities and perception. If the Mayor and Public Safety Director appear to the public to care about public safety, then they can use public safety funding for whatever pet projects they choose. Besides, it must be working....right? The mayor believes morale is high because crime is down.
Honestly, despite the mistreatment and disrespect shown by the administration and public, you (law enforcement) continue to do your jobs professionally and with great care. This speaks volumes about the content of character within the rank and file. God Bless you all.

Sorry bud, but if your car fits the description of a violent encounter, the rule is "we go home at night." Don't flatter yourself that you are America's most wanted. You just fit the picture and we are doing our jobs. Quit whining and suck it up. Oh yeah, and utilize that valuable college education (ha) and learn the English language. It will be quite the benefit when your career is over

Seems that nobody has a record of the stop... Leaves one wondering if he made it up since he was "late" for whatever
